Maybe a crop-off vest, or a bolero, like just under the chest, could be great, in a beige natural, like the glitters on your dress. Otherwise, a large shawl, maybe like cashemere, could give you a classic, and high-fashion look, very stylish. Or just a blazer, in corduroy, in black, or beige. And you can add some accessories. Gold jewels, like bigs earings, and black or gold shoes, you could look very great !

I would go with a gold lace shawl or a gold bolero jacket if you can find one. I had the same problem with a black velvet dress. A black lace shawl with lots of fringe worked great. You need a shawl that is at least 4 to 6 feet wide on one edge. That way when you drape it over your shoulders you can wrap the ends over your forearms so it doesn't hang down and hide your dress. Or bring the ends under your arms and tie them in a knot at the back of your waist. Good luck.

Alright, here's some suggestions---
* a shrug -- black crochet, black velvet or black fur / fake fur
* a white {fine} crochet shawl, with gold sparkles and long fringe
* a golden brown shrug or caplet -- either shimmery, satin, or fur-type material
* a black satin blazer or duster
My idea is that since the dress already has some glitz to it, the shawl or wrap should play off of that; you don't really need much more glimmer in the wrap.

I would just go with a simple black bolero or shawl. I think a gold jacket would look a little too dated and any other colour will take attention away from the gold in the dress and look too busy.
A plain black shawl/bolero/jacket will look sophisticated and classic without overpowering the dress.

An off-white lace shawl with a fine gauge weave (as opposed to a wide gauge weave). The white will naturally contrast the black, not be as "glitzy" looking as going with solid gold. Finding the proper shade of off-white will be a task. Bright whites will clash with the black undertones and too grey or tan of a white color will mute your gold unduly. Try to pick an eggshell or similar color. Wear it off the shoulder, covering your arms. The shawl should not be too long or too large for your body frame. The contrast in color will add elegance, highlight the gold sparkleys in your dress, and give you an overall look of conservative elegance. Good luck!

oh black is hard. But go with bright accessories. Like reds and purples. U could wear some jeans if the dress is short enough. If it is wear jeans that have purple and gold in it so it would tie in with some black ballet flats or BCBG pumps. Then for red go for a red belt over the dress, ballet flats, boho red bag, huge gold and red earrings, red shawl, and gold necklace.

A gold shawl will compliment the gold glitters in your dress, so it draws attention to the glitter and compliments the outfit. It serves as a nice contrast. hope i could help!

why are you wearing it? ie party or formal
what colour shoes are you wearing?
you can buy some gorgeous sheer shrugs to cover your shoulders but just look part of the dress so maybe go wih a sheer gold one for a party.
If the occasion is more formal then why not get a faux fur shrug in cream and use a gold pin to keep it together?
it doesnt matter what you wear hun you will look gorgeous and ppl will notice you more if you feel uncomfortable.
Have a good time.

easy go black. the gold glitter will be busy enough if you can't find jet black look for also a sheer see through shall in black or with fine woven gold treading through it still the back ground is black.
they have different styles. forget the ones with tassles hanging down or fringes and feahters keep it plain your dress sounds like its busy on its own.
