I love fresh Christmas trees. I sold them for a few years in south Florida, and I had the best looking trees till christmas. .
tips: soon as you get home place in a bucket of water.
make sure you give it a fresh cut before you place in water in your stand. Add about a cup of sugar to the water. You should also place
an asprin tablet in the water every week or so. Make sure that the tree has plenty of water and keep it filled. I have had trees last till feb 1st (because I am lazy sometimes) But they where still green. I also suggest that you purchase a fir tree, pines will shed needles very often, but a fir holds needles for a long time.

If you buy a tree now, or in two weeks doesn't make much difference. All the trees are cut around the same, usually in mid to late Oct. It is even possible buying it earlier and getting watered sooner may prolong its "life."

Or you could go to a cut your own farm, which can be a great family outing. If you chose this route, measure the area where you plan to place it, and bring along a tape measure, Trees never look as big in the "wild."

when you buy it trim off about 3 inches of the trunk. The key to making it live a long time is WATER, WATER, WATER 3-4 times a day! If you do that it will live past Christmas. Happy Holidays!!

yes, when you get it home make a fresh cut off the bottom and put it in warm water. Make sure you keep it watered everyday and don't let it go dry. Check for falling needles before you buy it.

make sure you give it lots of water and when you go buy it pinch a stem and pull on it towards you if there are not more than a few "needles" that stay in your hand than it's fresh don't take it if more than 10 stay in your hand... Good luck and Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
