I use a webcam everyday when my baby and I are in different countries. I usually buy Creative products and we use MSN and there is no delay the cams show pretty much in real time.
I got a different cam recently which was really cheap and an unknown brand and it works just as well as any others I've had.
We both use DSL and the quality has always been really very good. I'd recommend Creative webcams.

they work very well. I only take pictures on mine but my dad once talked to my uncle over in Bangladesh and it worked fine! we only have cable so i bet it'll work even better with dsl. Good Luck!

to talk from here ti israel would be an 8-26 second delay, ive done it, there good
