A lot of people are not as lucky as us, or as fortunate, and today is a day of thanks. Do you ever think about that and think you're lucky to be able to have what you have?

With the media and all it seems as if I can have better things, things could go a lot better but I know I'm fortunate to have my family and to have the things my family and I own.

I do think about that. I'm actually very, very lucky. Even though it has been a very hard year for me, my surrogate daughter Lexi cooked a lovely Thanksgiving dinner, turkey with stuffing and yams and cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie, and served several of her friends that otherwise would have nothing to do, or in a couple of cases, probably would not have enough to eat if it weren't for her. This is not some wealthy person, either; we are residents of a dorky little apartment building in a small town, with little enough money as it is. But some people just have big hearts, and I'm thankful Lexi adopted me.

Yes I have a friend who just lost a father so I've learned that the things I used to take forgranted and how I used to hate my life to others would seem like I have the greatest life ever. So I don't take anything that has been given to me forgranted anymore and whenever I feel like the world is against me I just think of those who are less fortunate than I am.

I realize there are several other people who don't celebrate thanksgiving. Many who still have more than I do.One day doesn't make up for the 364 others.I am thankful that my parents were still with us this year.Next year we won't be so lucky. Many here in the US who have children or relatives fighting or working in the middle east haven't been so lucky either. There's still Christmas and New Years.

Yes, I do.

I am so thankful for indoor plumbing, electricity, a warm house, food in the frig, etc....

We have so much and we take so much for granted in this country.

I don't consider it luck. I do consider it the mercy and blessing of God.

Happy Thanksgiving!
