First, you can't fight a concept..unless you plan on burning up alot of dictionaries. We must take action to make smart use of the available resources, while keeping the Earth worth living on. We have the capability to have everyone well off, if we only made use of the technology. Greed really is just inside-out fear of not having what you need...

If we can control all 17 billion humans on earth, then greed would be something easily accomplished. However...it seems that only communism was the way to fight greed...and that didn't turn out too well.

The right to live greed? Yes I want the right to live without terrorist of any kind, so I guess I will keep my greed in that sense too. please be more specific......this question is a little too open ended.

Thats a good question. Turns out when it comes to greed, race, gender, social status, age all are invisible to greed.

We have some poor who feel they should have what everyone else has, we have some rich who dont want to help anyone out, we have people of all ages that steal because they want something, we have women to try to take men to the cleaners during divorces, we have men that take advantge of women as well.

Greed is a moral problem and form what I hear, morals have no value in our legal system.

human beings, for all our hubris, are still an incredibly primitive species. what we like to often label as blatant greed is more often the leftovers of our less civilized heritage that still haunts us. i believe that the root of most human conflict is scarcity- whether it be through scracity of resources needed to survive, our scarcity of education, knowledge or wisdom to grow. throughout a long and brutal history, very often as living animals we have been threatened by the scarcities of what we have needed to survive, and this natural has fostered within our societies, the underlying fear of those scarcities and the compulsion to perpetually ensure that they are never a threat. this obviously transforms into cultural paradigms that praise amassing as much material goods and wealth as possible, not just as a sign of stature, but also as a measure of protecting oneself and one's loved ones from ever having to worry about the poverty of resources that can destroy or even kill us. so what we may label greed is actually more of a primitive instinct to continue perpetually gathering as much as we can in an animalistic survival mechanism.

abject greeed however, i believe falls into a different category than unconscious drive to survive. when an individual has everything they could possibly need, and knows they are in no threat, and yet is still overcome- out of their own control- with what is essentially a lust to continue acquiring more, whether it be through personal insecurity or social conditioning.

this 'pure' form of greed is a social construct that is best defeated by establishing a society where all people have their needs met and scarcity is no longer an issue that drives conflict- when everyone has what they need, the mindset that simply acquiring for the sake of acquiring will fall to the wayside and quite probably be laughed at as childish and primitive- which it is.

I tend to believe that greed is one of the most powerful evils on our planet and can only be fought on an individual basis!!!!
