OK...I was going to say Irene Rich but the more I research, the more I don't think that is correct. I may very well be stumped right now but I'll keep researching.
OK...I know Alan Rickman was in Sense and Sensibility and the movie I think you're talking about may be The January Man and Alan Rickman was in that. I don't know if he was in Calendar Girl, though. But I adore Alan Rickman so I'm going to make that my final answer (although I sure could have used a life line on this one!)
