Wouldn't happen, if it was that bad I would stop reading.

The two first Dan Brown books. Not the worst ones, but the ones that come to my mind, when I think of bad literature. Oh and german Popliterature (I dont know if you heard of that - for example a book called Crazy by Benjamin Lebert), sucks, young people writing about their modern (love)lives. Couldn't care less.

The Loop, by Nicholas Evans: (author of the Horse Whisperer, which I really enjoyed).
"Wolves return to a Montana valley, rekindling ancient hatred and conflict. Wolf biologist, Helen Ross, is sent to monitor and protect them and starts a dangerous affair with with the son of her most bitter opponent, brutal and philandering rancher Buck Calder."
It is awful. He gets near the end of the story then just suddenly stops, like he got fed up and just decided to end it at a completely random point, winds things up in a totally unimaginitve way, and quits. Also, it is full of glaring grammar and spelling mistakes - possibly the worst book I have ever read. I'm sure there are others, but when I read your question that one sprung immediately to mind!

The Oracle by Valerio Massimo Manfredi. It was doubly annoying for me because I felt I should have enjoyed it, given that it was related to the Odyssey. Instead I feel like I wasted six hours of my life on an unnecessarily violent and pretentious load of cr@p. If I ever meet the author, I'm going to give him a good slap.

Diana Gabaldon's first Outlander book. Goodness, everyone I know raves about this series, and how good it is, and that it's just fabulous. I was bored out of my mind, and kept wanting to shake the main character and tell her to wake up and that she was just an idiot! I've never wanted to tell a character in a book that she was stupid as much as I did then. I read the entire book, thinking it might pick up, since I'd heard so much good things about it. But no. Just not my cup of tea, I guess.

oh tough one, I read a lot and I've read some really bad ones. I read one called "Tell me your dreams" can't remember the author's name a few years ago. That was pretty awful. Surprising Born Free by Joy Adamson was a bit of a bore. You'd think rearing a lion cub and reintroducing her to the wild would be quite exciting wouldn't you. She managed to make it seem very mundane. "Bang Bang your dead" again can't remember the author's name. Really weird book. I'm reading "Murder at the god's gate." at the moment by Lynda Robinson. It's pretty good but an awful lot of characters to keep track of for such a short book. I'm glad they've started killing a few of them off.

The Old Man and the Sea - Ernest Hemmingway. Ugh, had to do that one for a book report in school. The most boring book to this day that I have ever read. It was about a man having the fight of his life hooking a big fish in the sea by Cuba. That's what the whole book was about! Great author, but this book sucked.

probably the Narnia Series, absolutely hated, bad style of writing, to strong on the christian image, and I read so the movie wouldn't ruin my opinion of the book. Quess what, for the first time ever i liked a movie more than the book.

Can't stand Terry Pratchett books - his writing style is 'You will laugh, and you will laugh NOW!' which I find arrogant and annoying. I read the first one and thought, I really don't care if Rinsewind falls of the bloody earth.
