When A game is played on a Thursday, does it count for the week of the previous Sunday, or for the coming Sunday?

it counts for the following week. for example the cowboys won today so they are 7-4. the rest of the teams that didnt play today have played only a total of 10 games, like the 9-1 bears

it the comming sunday ... the last game of the week is monday night football .......any thursday game will be for the week ahead, like thursdays game then all the sundays games are the same week
