I don't think that so many people will remember that, thanks for pointing that out. The difference actually will be that you can believe in only one that mostly reflect the time when you live. Lots of native religions had more than one main character as a God. At present we have One Good - The Creator, the most important One.Greeks had too many of them so it wasn't that important. It is interesting to read Greek mythology sometimes and think what is really behind all of that myths

By referring to the God's of ancient Greece and the religion of there worship as 'mythology' you are lending credence to the 'hot air' theorists, mythology is based on the word MYTH meaning something that is not real.

People still do worship these Gods and Gods other than the one put forward by Christian's, the people that do are classified as PAGANS - that other Gods exist is written into the ten commandments, the second commandment states

Thou shalt have no other God besides (before) me.

It does not say that there are no other Gods but basically tells you that you are not to worship other Gods, so it could be argued that this confirms the existence of other Gods.

So on this basis there is a positive argument that the Greek Gods did and do exist and that there if you wish to worship them then it is also possible that when you die that your soul will travel to there version of the afterlife.

Dont forget the Romans and Egyptians too.
They believed in their Gods and Sons of Gods too. It was belief not Mythology to them!
We only have the bible to go on that Jesus was real! Where is the Historical Proof?
Isis and her son Horus were portrayed in statues exactly as Mary and Jesus are portrayed and both Isis and Mary share similar titles, The myths surrounding Isis and Horus sounds like the bible story in many ways!

It's either all hot air or the same story being re-told!!

The Greek religion was very real to them as Christianity is to Christians..... Most of the greek heros are very likely based upon real people, who real story is clouded in myth and lost to history. Christians believe their faith is more valid because they take a egocentric perspective and that today they are among the more dominant faiths thus forcing a homogenious concensus by the majority. The number of new age avocates in the current culture are a minority, so we do not usually hear their views, but to them, what the majority considers mythology is not myth but real.

I'm the son of god, does that mean the bible is hot air, no. Jesus didn't say he was the son of god, others did, he said he was the son of man, and we all are god children. He often would point out that every1 is his family, yet towards the end of his life he states when the son of man return all will be wondrous and so fourth. Further proof of this is in the fact his real family in the biological since, includung Mary thought he was off his rocker. I ask you if the angel Gabirel came to you and gave you the gift of having a child of god, why would you question that childs life????

Who says that it is making sense for Jesus to be the son of God?

Start with Mary who is married to Joseph
But still a virgin????

The only thing full of hot air in this world are its people.

Did you just ask why MYTHOLOGY is regarded as hot air? Maybe it has something to do with the word myth. You, personally, should maybe call it ancient greek history? Not that this would have any effect on perception?

Each person believes that his belief is the truth.Muslims say all other religions are hot air.Old Testament satisfies all the tests of mythology. But Christians belive it as truth. In fact all correct. There are different relgions but there is only one God.All religions lead to the same God.THere are no separate God for Christians,Muslims,Hindus etc,Let somebody believe in Greek/Roman God or mythology.

Roman political agenda.

Bible is as good a myth as Greek Mythology, but the propaganda behind it lacked in Greek.

Let us treat myths as myths and not literal truths inspired from gods, lest it not lead to justification of evil (mortal means to divine end).

Who told you Greek mythology is not important? Have a good time reading Homeros, odysseia and James Joyce's Ulysses.

You can check it from the internet too, there are many nice mythological sites.
