With Audacity, how can I record music that is playing through my computer off the Internet? When I clicked on the "record" button, all I got was silence from what was playing on my computer, and when I played it back, all I got was silence. Could you either be specific with instructions on how to, or give me the link to instructions on how to. Thank you.

It is a live stream. If you saved the stream to a HD, then on playback it worked, you have just recorded it. Use whatever device.program you want, except RealPlayer Win Version or Windows Media Player, cuase they can sue you, or legally trash music.sound files on your hard drive if you have any copyrited stuff on it and have payed.

On the far right at the top of the title bars, you'll see a clickable arrow that normally is set to the choice of "Line in". Click that arrow, and then click on the choice for "What U hear". Then start up the sound you want to record and hit the record button. Good luck.

in basic terms settings your mic infront of your speaker and u dont choose to try this so any sound u choose to pay attention with out working the video/internet site or despite you're attempting to do is get carry of it and if its attacted to a video then in basic terms use a video/audio editor to save in basic terms the audio to a record.
