my mp3 player seems to be locked up...?

for over 30 minutes now it says 'Uploading... do not remove USB Cable' but it's not doing anything. i'm afraid to disconnect it for fear of losing everything on it or ruining it permanently, but is it safe to restart my computer? thanks...

Just unplug it. It will be ok.

Shut down the computer for 30 seconds and then turn it back on. This should help.
