Increase the length of time you set the microwave for after putting the pines in. This will make the whole house have a nice smell like Christmas trees, but be careful not to mike them for too long, or they might burn. And be sure to put them on a disposable plate and also cover them so the pitch doesn't get all over the microwave.

You've really given me a good idea - I only have a spruce tree, but I think I'll try miking a few sprigs this evening. What a wonderful Christmasy idea!

Pine trees are quite slow growing as they usually grow in mountainous areas,so to make your pines longer I would recommend a good all round fertilizer in the growing period with a sufficient supply of water. If no fertilizer is given it could lead to a stunted shriveled little pine.I do so hope that this information has been of use. No,no,no,there is no need to thank me.I have been only to pleased to pass along the invaluable knowledge that I have built up over the last couple of minutes

hi Mike,
what kind of pines do you have?
loblolly, southern, norfolk, long-leaf, short-leaf....what part of the US do you live in, that may help...
have you tried a fertilizer? you may want to call the extension agent, ask them to come ouy and look at your pine tree and then recommend a brand...don't expect anything quick...pines grow very slowly...and it may take hundreds of years to get to 100 feet.
good luck!

Go to your nearest Wal-Mart Super Center parking lot. Throw your pines on the ground and stomp on them. It will work, I double-dog guarantee.

Lots of water and sunlight and also don't worry about the sap that oozes out the bark.
