Yes! It should also be as heavy as a bowling ball.

with as many home runs that get hit, making a ball fatter is the LAST thing that should be done to a baseball. I'm still trying to figure out if the material/percentage of each material in the ball changed at all in the last dozen years. During the time of the last strike season, MLB was concerned about the low attendance and felt that more homers would be the answer. Anyway, I agree with legendary Cardinals pitcher Bob Gibson, who said the worst thing MLB ever did was change the dimensions of the mound. It ended an era of outstanding pitchers. So, crazy as your question may sound, I'll bet MLB would make a baseball fatter if they felt that more homers are needed for attendance. But a juiced ball and juiced players have all but taken care of that scenario!

This is the most ridiculous suggestion ever posted on Yahoo answers. More than that, this is the most ridiculous suggestion ever made. This is more ridiculous than legalizing steroids. For over 1000 years baseball has been played with a 9 inch, 5 ounce baseball. Changing it would not only destroy America's past time, it would be turning Baseball into slow pitch softball for... Derr, no reason!
