ok. First Limewire is untrusted. Norton will do the job only if u open the file by the way when it is open the virus had might effected ur pc. SO don't use Limewire or any P2P u don't know what u are getting.

When I used Limewire to download music and video ,the same thing happened to me. I used MCAFEE anti-virus.It scanned my PC and found 7000 infected files and removed them from my PC.It took an entire day of scanning but in the end my PC 's Viruses were removed and my PC has been fine since. It costs around 40 bucks but it's well worth the money.

A virus could have really messed up your system .

Thats one of the bad points of downloading free music. Sometimes you also download stuff you don't want.

Download.com has free Antivirus and anti-spyware software. Download it and run it to see if you are infected .

I suspect you may need to wipe your system and reinstall your operating system.

Apple is less targeted by hackers as there are less users on Apples (therefore Windows users are a bigger target)

hi the sole thank you to velocity up your laptop is to function RAM and optimistically have a multi-middle processor. in case you have those then Norton is a good multi functional application to have inspite of the undeniable fact that do no longer setting up this in case you're low on reminiscence, have a small annoying force under 500gb and don't have the above processor. otherwise your laptop will decelerate as a consequence. My some years in coping with this issue is to place in separate anti-virus and spyware, firewall classes as they have a tendency to artwork extra useful. regards, pcsmalvern
