4 weeks is 1 month.
So, 30 weeks is 30/4
which is 7.5
which is 7 months and 2 weeks.

The standard math all the other sarcastic bozos are throwing at you is correct - consider 4 weeks = 1 month.
However, because there's no reliable way to determine exact conception date (unless you have sex once a month) the usual doctor math goes like this:
You start counting "weeks" from the beginning of her last period.
This usually means conception happened on about week 2.
Normal gestation (pregnancy, in doctor-talk) is 280 days or - wait for it - 10 of those 4-week months, for 40 weks.
But, you already started witha 2 week handicap, so it's total 9.5 of those 4-week months.
Between the weeks 37 and 40 is called the "9th month" by doctors. Weeks 33-36 is month 8, and weeks 29-32 is month 7. Etc.
That means that a person in their 30th week is 7.5 months by the doctor's count, or "in their 7th month".
And really, a calendar month is 30 to 31 days (except February which can be premature, ha ha) so I don't blame "your friend" for being confused. Every 3 Calendar months, there's an extra week in there - 13 weeks a quarter, for 52 weeks a year - plus one day or two.
So actually, 280 days or 40 weeks is 1 week more that 9 months Calendar wise, but counts from about 2 weeks before conception.
And, to top it off, the first baby is usually (but not always) about a week late.
So the people replying above me here, trying to make you look stupid, are actually pretty dumb themselves because they don't know what they are talking about. It's a bit more complicated than that.
The calendar counting thing is so confusing that OB doctors have adopted the simple 4-week-per-month math to ensure everyone is talking about the same thing.
