Any help appreciated, how long does heat tape take to work, anything else we should try? Thanks so much.

i feel that heat tape is preventive medicine. can you pump your dryer vent under the house?
heat lamps also can help thaw yer pipes out. when it works again, dont forgit to drip yer faucets.

If you knew where the pipe always froze, you could cut a 4 foot section of it out and take it inside to thaw out. Then reconnect it at both ends with good hose and clamps so that it can be removed easily next time. A plumber would use "union" type threaded pipe fittings at each end to allow the pipe to be disconnected.

all good suggestions....one note, chances are that if it's frozen, it's broken. You might want to plug your heat lights into a GFI protected circuit, it might save a trip to the hospital, to straighten your hair!!!
