To want the desire to live forever is selfish, and the idea has been "thrown out" throughout history. What I mean is this: People have been searching for ways to gain immortality for ages and ages. But if anyone were to find it they would probably, over time, curse themselves for wishing it upon themselves, and then having that wish granted.
I would hate to have immortality. I would have to watch everyone I loved die over time, watch everything I loved change and eventually decay over time.
Only immortality of the soul and the mind is possible, according to Buddhism teachings, and the teachings of the Bible. It would be an abonation to have immortality of the body. And very depressing.

yes, I think mankind was made to live forever . just not always on planet Earth . the Earth will not hold up to the strain of people and people and more people . The San Andreas fault alone ,spreads from the Pacific coast to the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, and if it gives ,and there is a domino effect , it will split the world in half . That's just one of many things that too many people will cause . famine, and overcrowding . People die and new people are born everyday to balance things. I don't want to live forever here. This world stinks . But i'm happy to be here for a while anyway .. John 3: 16

Probably in the not too distant future, perhaps...
Although technically, our bodies may cease to function but our soul lives on, so in that sense we are 'immortal'.
Frankly, I wouldn't like to live TOO long but ONLY if I had the wealth & health to keep on going.
Otherwise, I'm ready to 'go' when my time comes...

right here is the main important between the two: eternal life is life interior the religious experience, meaning which you will stay continuously yet not as you recognize it now. Immortality isn't death, staying alive continuously on earth on your physique as you at present are conscious of it. honestly while the Bible speaks approximately eternal life this is speaking approximately our spirits spending eternity with God in heaven. Being immortal is what the parable of the vampire substitute into, residing for the period of the a while on your physique with out death, in this earth continuously.

I think it would be cool to live forever. But, I would want to make sure that the people closest to me would live forever too. I woudnt want to watch them all die. I also wouldnt want to do it if i had to live in an old body that was rotting, and that i couldnt do anything with.

We are immortal creatures and I do agree with you; the only thing that changes is the level of consciousness in which we exist.

Yes cause I know when my life ends I will have not learned everything I want to of the world.
yes I would but only if I could eventually die, all life must fade and all dreams must end for new ones to begin.

Although i admit it is an interesting idea, i would have to pass. I dont want to see all my friends and family die around me. Besides, the fact that life can be so short is what makes lifes little moments all the sweeter.

no way immortality is possible, we are born for a particular mission in life and when we complete it we leave this world and live our footsteps...

Definetly not! Sometimes the only thing that keeps me going is knowing that some day it will all be over. Thank God for endings!
