An example of what I'm talking about since no one has answered what I'm talking about yet, it's like this.

Ok in the address bar say I start to type c
under it other random things come up (just looking at mine right now, C:/, Control Panel, Catalyst Control Center, and some links and other things) So it's not just links it is other things to and I don't understand it.

But anyway please inform me if you need more clarification

In IE, click on TOOLS-Options, hit the Advanced Tab.
Scroll down until you see "Use inline AutoComplete" and uncheck it.

If you mean the little drop-down thing on the address bar, just delete your history. Tools-Options-Clear History.

For Internet Explorer 6 and below: Click on Tools > Internet Options from Internet Explorer, and click on the "clear history" button on the General tab .

For Internet Explorer 7: Click on Tools > Internet Options, click on the "Delete" button on the General tab, and click on the "Delete History" button.

While you are on it, you may also delete the others, except "Delete Password", if you are like me and permits windows to store some of your passwords.

The drop down of the address bar shows all address you have typed, you can avoid that by clearing the history. Clearing the cache and the history can help. Dunno any permanent fix for the problem though!
