i'm not gonna say what size i wear, but i am gonna say that women buy too big because they measure from the middle of the chest, not below the breast.

How do you know if they buy sizes too big? Most women are wearing a cup size too small, they are wearing a band size that is too large, which is the measurement around the back. If you don't understand how bra sizes work, ask you wife to explain it to you.
Also just because two people are a particular cup size, it doesn't mean they will both look the same size. One person could be a D cup and look more like a B and another person could be a D cup and look more like an F. It all depends on the shape and positioning of the breasts. It is not an exact science.
