I ask that the God of love and comfort to be with you today. I ask that He send His loving angels to wrap their wings of warmth and love around you. I ask that He give you a heart of peace and joy, dry your tears, and that you can feel true pride in the bravery of what your husband is doing for freedom. May God's hand of peace surround you, and may you feel the thanksgiving of a nation for what you and your husband sacrifice for us. In Jesus name, amen.

I don't have anyone in Iraq either. I am sure that you are lonely not having him there with you. I for one, am very grateful to have people like your husband protecting me, and the laws of this land. So, that is what I am thankful for today! Please be happy, it will make your husband proud for what he is doing there in Iraq. I hope for his, and all the other soldiers there, a safe return.

I to am military and I know exactly how you feel. I have missed a few Thanksgivings and Christmas' since my hubby has been in for 21 years. You are taking the first step and reaching out instead of sulking by yourself. You can always celebrate when he comes home. (who cares if its July) Hang in there.

This is going to be a really rough time for you, and I'm sure he feels the same way. Christmas will be another heartbreaker, I'm sorry to say. Just try to remember that his heart is with you always, even though he might be away. When you see him again, it will make the time you have together even more special. We appreciate our loved ones more when we have to miss them so desperately. People tend to forget that it isn't just our soldiers that are sacrificing for us, but their families as well. My thoughts are with you. The next holiday season will be extra special for you, and you deserve it.

If he will still be gone over Christmas, check in with his squadron's Family Support group, and get with other spouses and have a dinner by combining families
My husband was gone for three months in Qatar, and we live in an area with no relatives, so I know your loneliness.
