I depends on what you want. personally i prefer AMD X2's but that will soon change to AMD 4x4 and 8x8. Core 2 Duo's are ok, but i dont like intel. thats personal preference i guess. really the best chip in theroy is the quad core intel. notice i said in theory. IT;s slightly buggy in real life. dual core Xenons are good too and will give u a server pretty much. also remember that a processor can only be as good as the rest of the computer lets it be. if you only have 256mb of ram, no matter how fast the processor, your performance is gonna be terrible.

Depends.
Some are better at multitasking than others.
Some are better for gaming than others.
Some have lower power consumption than others.
Some are faster than others.
Some have a higher cache than others.
Some are more expensive than others.
There is no 'best' processor until you say what you want it to be best at.

It depends upon what you want it to do. All 'round you get better value from AMD. 'More bang for your buck' I think they used to call it.
Post again and include what you want to use your computer for, you'll get a better class of reply!!
