I was caught up in road rage today. I come to traffic lights and this car was driving fast and I didnt think anything of it, then suddelny it just pulled on to pavment so I had to quickly move around it, then it followed me straight away and put there main beam on coming right up my ****. Then we got to traffic lights and then they went green, he then spinned off nearly in to the back of me - then straight away moved on to the wrong side of the road. A car was coming there way towards them, I thought they had gone behind me but they sped up even more untill there nearly collided, I braked for them so they could squeeze in, they then slammed there brakes on and made me stop too - they then got out and came racing over to my car - I opened the window half way thinking they was going to say something, but they said one thing and then punched me just catching me on my nose - I carry a metal weapon in my car, I was going to use it but he ran to the car and went - nearly hittin anofa car.

I remembered the reg and give it to the police, I also described the car too!
and the person.
The police are completley usuless. This is the secnd time they haven't bothered to turn up - I even rang them again and they still never turned up!
It didnt bother me a little nock to my nose is nothing - you could call it assualt but who cares - im more worried he will kill some one with his driving. A complete nutter.

Great that you got the reg number. Bad that you got assaulted. Go to the police and ask for the chief inspector and inform them that if they don't take any action you will go to the local papers, solicitor etc etc They are very sensitive to bad publicity and they will get their collective fingers out. Good Luck.

I was in a similar situation, I pulled out of a car park onto a dual carriageway and was half way onto the road when a car came around the bend doing about 80mph. I was too far out to stop, so stayed in the inside lane and avvelerated , expecting him to pass me. He didn't and on the next stretch of dual carrigeway stayed on my tail. As we reached the end of the dual carriageway he overtook me then slammed his brakes on. I just managed to stop, just nudging his car, causing no damage. This was on a stretch of road renowned for accidents. He had his wife and 2 small children in his car. He did the same, just punched me through the open window, cutting my lip. I went straight to the police station, and to cut a long story short, he was banned from driving for a year, bound over for 18 months and I was awarded £500 costs. I live in Cumbria, so not all police are the same.

If you've got some way of identifying the guy or the car you can go down and report a crime and they have to follow it up, but if you can't give them some kind of start to the guy's ID, well... They can't interview everyone in the country, basically.
That said, personally I'd still go down the police station and make a complaint. He's bound to do it to someone else at some point, and maybe a pattern will start to emerge.

this is by no ability solid to create a confrontational concern as you found out. in particular on the grounds which you in basic terms do not understand how the different individual is going to react. yet once you have created this style of outrage, call the police once you experience you'll be assaulted or in some variety of possibility. Blowing a horn at a end easy because of the fact somebody wasn't conscious for too long after the easy grew to become eco-friendly is one difficulty. attempting to get somebody else to maintain on with the regulations of the line is yet another. not a competent thought. you at the instant are not a coward in basic terms somebody who would not choose to be threatened. it somewhat is ultimate below those circumstances to not provide everyone a raffle to be threatening or attitude you in any way. greater advantageous to chill out and wait mutually as somebody else is doing something stupid.

If you got the registration take it into a police station. Also write a letter about the incident to your local press, if the police take it seriously mention the fact the police had little interest in taking any action regarding the incident dispite your complaint. Once it appears in the paper and the media start poking their nose in they will look into it more througherly.

Instead of waiting for them to turn up why not go to the police station in person

um, that's assault....are you sure you called the right police? they aren't going to launch a full scale investigation so if you didn't have thier license number, yeah, its very unlikely that they can even do anything about it.
