neatsfoot oil, shoe polish, floor wax, car polish. all work fine, but it depends on how deep the scratch is. wheather the damage is only surface or further down.

Use a leather conditioner. It replaces natural oils in the leather. It will also make new scratches less noticeable. Do NOT use a magic marker. They will fade eventually and look awful. You can find conditioner at any shoe store; but ideally, a product like Guardsman would be best.

Cover up the scratch with a majic marker of the same color.

plain old shoe polish works wonders
