Why do we let US policy dictate our policy? We might be trade partners but we don’t have to be like them. The US trades with Holland. Holland has some of the most liberal laws in the world when it comes to prostitution and narcotics. Their penalties are stiff but their laws are not. Canadians are more like Europeans than US citizens. Take for example the CBC: They will show full frontal nudity (in the context of a film and not just for gratuitous display). The CBC is a national network. Have you ever seen full frontal nudity on NBC, CBS, ABC or FOX (all national networks)? The FCC fined CBS $500,000.00 for the Janet Jackson Super Bowl incident. In Canada we’d laugh at something like that. OOOOH NUDITY! It wasn’t even nudity but a single breast with the equivalent of a pasty over the nipple. You can see more at the news stand when you look at FHM, MAXIUM or the SI swimsuit issue.

I'm with you to some extent.
The United Nations passed a "Universal Declaration of Human Rights".

Canadians and Europeans see it as something to work toward.

Stupid right-wing America sees it as a socialist manifesto.

It was passed by the U.N. General assembly through Canadian and American Co-operation.

It was drafted by Canadian John Peters Humphrey

Canada is Canada. The United States is the United States. If the United Stated dictated policy to Canada there would be no nudity on CBC. Also your health care is better then the United States. Canadians dictate policy in Canada not the United States. Oh by the way there is an up coming Anniversary for Canada in April 2007. The Battle of Vimy Ridge. There today stands one of the largest monument on the Western Front. On that monument are several thousand names whose remains are forever lost. There are a about a hundred names that are from the United States. Men who went to Canada to fought for Canada before the United States entered the war(WWI). Canada help US Personal during the Iranian Crises in 1979. To bad Canadians and American don't remember those thing so nudity on TV won't be such a big deal

The problem with your appeal is that you've dabled in a number of issues that are not really connected most of the time. First of all your assumption that canadia forign policy is vastly different than the US. The only thing they dictate is how much nutral resorces they are willing to buy from us. The reasone there never seem to be conflicts between the US and Canada is because Canada is a responsible nation that usualy makes good decisions (not neccesarily things the US would do, but nothing dangerouse or irrisponsable). The other is that we give them more oil than any other country in the world. They lean on us about as much as we lean on them. Before you decide that canada blindly follows the US everywhere, read up up on Canadian forigne policy and activityand you'l see how different we are.

Well, no, we aren't like the US (thank God). But there is more to us than showing full frontal nudity. It's some of our leaders who have wanted to be yes men to that land down south--forgot its name. But WE--the citizens, are not. And yes, alligator, we don't think we are God's gift--we are. We know how to keep out of issues that don't concern us. And we don't group a whole race of people and condemn them for the actions of some of their kind. Go back under your rock of ignorance, alligator, you miserable &^%hole, and rot there. You say you don't like Canadians, well, I have met quite a few Americans, and like them very much. I must say that you are a disgrace to your nationality.

You don't have to worry, I for one am an AMerican and I don't like most Canadians. And you are like Europeans. You both think your **** doesn't stink and that you are Gods gift to the world. If Canada is as you have stated it is, then the U.S. is clearly not dictatin policy to you, so I don't understand the question.

Here's an idea: watch your hockey, watch your full frontal nudity ( I personally have no interest in seeing man wang on tv), and smoke your weed. Just stay the f*ck out of the way while the U.S. rids the world of Islamic Fascists, who by the way, don't like your culture either. If you really want to slap yourself on the back for being like europeans, that's great. But Europe is currently being overun by radical violent muslims. Europe, meanwhile, is locked in to inaction by fear. They are restricting their own rights, freedom of speach, and freedom of the press to appease these radical muslims, rather than face the problem head on.

See, in America, I'll draw all the insulting images of Mohammed I like. I will point out how viloent Islam is. I could care less. Because this is the mother f'ing land of the free! Hopefully, the politicians in the U.S. who also want to be "european", mainly left leaning lunatics like Nancy Pelosi, Alcee Hastings, Jack Murtha, and Harry Reid, don't mess things up too much.

I will say this: If these Islamo-Fascists try the **** that is going on in France, England, Holland, etc. (bullying christians, burning flags, Assaults, burning buses, vandalizing churches, calling for the assassination of leaders, imposing their cult on others) all hell will break loose. I will almost feel bad for the muslims in this country if that happens.
Becasue the American people simply will not put up with it.

Your person at the border wouldn't let me and my long haired friends in once, so you all can shove it.No actually all the people I have met from Canada have been nice. you have a fine country, keep it up. in a lot of ways your government is better run then ours. showing .violence should be controlled in the media , not so much sex. but Americans generally our more Conservative and we have a right to be.That's right. any damn way we wont to be.is our right. but you do have a right to your opinion. Peace
