Yes sweetheart, I'm alone today. I chose to stay home, I could have gone up to LA to visit my sister, but didn't. I am leaving for vacation next week so I had alot to do. Are you lonely? If you are please consider this a hug from a friend. May God fill your heart with peace today, may He show you all the things that He has given you because He loves you, even if you are alone today.

So you see you're not really alone, I'm over here smiling and waving to you, telling you that I see you and I hear you!

Dear Vin,
Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for asking!!!

I spent the day alone but certainly wasn't lonely.
I was invited for an evening meal at my daughter-in-law's half sister's on the other side of the state but I've been driving way too much lately so I said no thank you. I'm so glad because it has been raining heavily all day.

Since I couldn't go outside for a walk I stayed in my jammies all day. I emailed my youngest brother who is serving in Iraq. I talked to my daughter who is at her in-laws in GA. Her husband got a stomach bug and she is hoping she and their infant won't get it. I hope so too because I'll pick them up tomorrow at the airport.

I have been enjoying listening to a Christmas cd. I had a Healthy Choice turkey dinner for my Thanksgiving feast and I'm about to write my annual Thanksgiving letter to my heavenly Father.

How about you?

Edit: Somehow I forgot to mention that the very BEST part of my day was to have time to work on my book for perhaps the first time since my youngest grandchild was born a year ago!!!

Yes... I am alone and someone else just asked about this a few minutes ago because they were alone... I wrote my in-laws an apology and delivered it this morning and came back to my apt and read for a bit, took a short nap, ate, and started listing my blessings in a letter to God... Then, I got online for awhile...

I notice that I have the choice to get depressed by feeling sorry for myself or I can think of ALL the wonderful blessings I have and thank God for them and feel OK...! I think you can tell which choice I've made... Happy Thanksgiving...!

Yes, I am FINALLY Free of others in my home (I was a Long-Term single parent to two disabled children -- now adults living on their own) ... so FINALLY am an Empty-Nesting Retiree ... and

I am ENJOYING THE FIRST quiet Thanksgiving where I am ABLE To sit down and RELAX -- no having to cook for 2 days, not being screamed at, being ABLE TO CHOOSE the TV channel I WANT to watch, not having trash everywhere, NOT having to spend hour after hour washing, cleaning, etc.

So today ... I just raked a bit of my rural yard, did some work on cleaning out junk from the attic, washed 1 load of clothes (instead of 4-6), was able to enjoy the ability to choose what DVD to watch in my player, and ...

am NOW ENJOYING PEACE and QUIET -- something that I have Not been able to enjoy for a few decades now.

So I am HAPPY that I am Alive, able to start ENJOYING my retirement, and just glad to have nothing being broken in my home while I do all the work.

I am. I went to work, and at night I went out and drank beer. Didn't even really realize it was Thanksgiving. I left the USA 15 years ago, and don't really care - just like 95% of the world's population.

Really - it's not that big of a deal.

I had to work. I'm a cook in a nursing home. I felt good, as I do everyday, in cooking a good meal for them. Many of the residents had no visitors, so I went out to the dining room and wished each one a happy thanksgiving.

Now I'm cooking something for me and my 2 daughters.

But I feel sad right now

Yes. I could have gone to visit my lover's family, but opted out. I was supposed to go help at a local club making dinner, but I got sick last night, so I stayed home. I called & apologized. I'm OK. I was feeling sorry for myself last night (most of my family & some of my friends are dead) but I got over it & I'm OK now, until Christmas. I enjoy my dogs' company. (2) They always make me feel loved.

I'm alone...but I am not lonely...

I spend the rest of the year staying away from my family...if I finally broke down and saw them, it certainly wouldn't be all at once...

Besides, these hammerheads would start digging into me, and I'd have to throw someone out the window...and they're very nice windows...those windows don't deserve that. They keep me warm, or cool, and I ain't breakin' 'em because my brother won't shut his YAP!...lol
