This is probably a question related to SEO. My web site looks nice, has plenty of content, but I dont like how most of my users come to the site, then leave within minutes.

Even major websites have trouble getting visitors to stay and browse. The nature of the internet means clicking away. People get bored immediately.

One suggestion for you is have immediate content upon entering into the site (rather than summaries that link to elsewhere in the site). Another good idea is--and it sounds cheesy--but have a related blog. People are more likely to return if they know there is going to be daily, fresh, relevant content. And on a final note, you can get Google Analytics (google.com/analytics) for free, which will show you over time which of your content is most successful and which is not so much. Good luck! Getting and keeping web traffic is NOT easy.

When someone goes to your site, they're bombarded with a lot of different messages and there's no clear focus. All of your page is blue or white with a small graphic on the top and in the first paragraph. So, visually, it seems that everything is the level of importance and none of it is really important.

Use graphics sparingly but resourcefully. Use bold colors and bolder, bigger text to draw their eyes to the most important content on the page. Content is king when it comes to getting them to stay. FRESH, relevant, interesting content brings them back. Improving the focus of the page will keep them there longer.

The first things you should do is include a opt in page in your website to capture their email and Name by offering free stuff.

When someone visit your website, based on survey you only have 10 second to capture their intention.

Some other important information you should include in your website are

a) Headline- Just like you reading a newspaper of any internet articles, you are looking for headline that interests you. Example of Good headline and Bad Headline.

Bad Headline- "Lost Weight Pills"

Good Headline-"How to lost 5kg in 1 weeks with Lost Weight Pills"

b) Benefit- Tell them benefit of your product or information . Do not tell them Features! Example, Dog have a Norse, leg, ear, Tail is all Features

You should tell them your dog can help in Search & Rescue operation. That is Benefit.

C) Content is the KING! Have a good contents that will enable your visitor to come to your website again and again.

Hope this will help. Good Luck!

I looked around your site and you do have quite a bit of content but I think the one thing you are missising, unless I'm blind and did not see it is a forum.

If you have a forum on anime, people will join but you also need to join other anime forums and advertise your site on them. This will generate more users and will keep them on your site cause now they can post topics on anime and as well as reply to other people's topics on anime.

If you need to advertise your site for FREE stop by mine, sign up on my forum and I can help you get the word out. Just click on the link below.

Maybe I'm a bit biased since I love anime myself, but I'd say perhaps make your home page more visually appealing. Like give some anime eye candy or fan service something, more than what you have now. I think you know what I mean ;)

That is because they are either coming in on pages for unrelated terms and so they leave. Or you content just isn't what they are looking for.
