I have 3 windows facing a busy street, and they are in bay window form.

You may an incremental improvement with heavy drapes. You can improve the windows, unless they are already heavy duty. From the inside you may wish to add doors or half-doors across the bay window inside opening. They could be substantive glass doors to allow the view (of traffic?) and light in. You could plant evergreens between the house and the traffic noise.

for the long term i suggest you plant some cedar trees along the road....they really quiet things down and are cheap.
