Okay, I have a 10 page report on Charles Dickens due on December 13th. I have a whole page of guidelines to follow, and in the guidelines it says that the report has to BE DONE IN MLA WRITTING STYLE. The teacher also gave us a packet on what MLA writting style is, but i dont understand it.

Can someone please explain to me what it is? And how its suppose to go into my report? Thanxs in advance :]

MLA (Modern Language Association) has published a manual to use as a guideline for properly writing formal papers such as research papers. It tells you how to do a title page, how to organize and list footnotes or end notes, and how to do a bibliography. If your teacher has given you printed directions on how he,she wants that paper done, then follow the instructions, What the teacher means by the instructions follow the MLA writing style is that her directions are those she found in their manual.

I hope this helps.

It is one of a few "styles" for writing reports and scholarly papers. It mainly concerns headings, citing sources, using quotations, etc.
