I prefer older men, not for their money or anything like that (I'm could care less about it, I'm not materialistic) but because I'm looking for someone with more maturity and wisdom. I'm more mature and serious than all the guys in my age group, they bore me, so I would rather spend my time with someone I can actually have a meaningful conversation with, someone who can teach me a thing or two about life. Anyhow, my question is: why is society these days so against that when 100 years ago it was exactly the opposite?

I don't think there is anything wrong with it... I think the people that have a problem with it would be the women of the men's age group.... like his ex wife and all her friends.
People sometimes think that girls that are young are only with the older men b/c they are "gold diggers".
I think if you really love the person and are not just looking for life security (money) then it is totally fine. and who cares what anyone thinks anyway right? its your life.

I think it is a stereotype problem. BECAUSE 100 years ago, it was exactly the opposite. I think the stereotype is either that the young woman indeed wants only the money, etc. OR that the man just wants a young sexy girl to make himself feel more young.
I think it has just stuck around through the years and the stereotypes are strong.

I always had the same question but I think that the reason is some people think that older men (maybe parent/guardian) are involved in certain activities. I think that is very immature because one day or the other you are going to be that certain age and your parent/guardian has most likely been through the same thing. Well I have a really personal view on this one. My wife of 11 years had an affair with someone 11 years younger than me, got pregnant, got divorced and then married him. Broke my family up.... I have four children. I Hate The Idea, but as long as you are both single after someone turns 21 I really don't think it is anyones business but the two involved. Love is what matter the most.

It depends on the age difference. If a woman is 40 and dates a 60 year old man I believe sooner or later that love will die with time. The compatability that they once had just won't be there. If you have a 40 year old and a 60 year old and and lets say sexually they aren't that driven, and they just enjoy staying home then maybe it might work out. If you got a 40 year old that loves to travel and go out sooner or later that man will not be able to do the things he once did. So it may seem that it is okay at the time, but age is progressive.

I think most people automatically assume young girls are with older men only because of the money, or they assume the older man is cheating on his wife. Personally, I think older men are way hot!

your more mature than most of the guys you see. there are alot of young men that are mature, you just havn't found him yet.
I'm not against women dating older men but older men can perswade younger women to do stuff you wouldn't ussually do.
so don't go out with someone if the try to make you do unconfortible things.

Maybe some of your friends are hooked up with losers and couldn't find a good man if they used both hands and they would prefer you to be as miserable as they are.
