i started a punk rock band with my friends. we have good songwriting and we are very passionate about what we are doing. we're fed up with society and its rules. but we go to a prep school, not from a punk scene, and none of us has ever been to a punk rock show. however, we listen to and love bands like black flag, minor threat, the ramones, sex pistols, bad religion, green day, bane and rise against. are we posers? does this dispel credibility and/or commercial success? do you need to be punk to make punk music?

i consider punk rock to be more pure rock than anything else. i, myself am poor. i dunno why my parents afforded to send me to this school, but i'm kinda glad they did. cause then this band never would have been formed.
