I would say your poor friend should stand up for himself. Doesn't he realize how degrading that sort of behaviour is. His wife should not speak down to him at home like that let alone when they are out in public. In a marriage there should be mutual respect between husband and wife. Obviously his wife is just a domineering, nasty person who needs some of her own back. Tell him to take his balls out of his wifes pocket and belt her over the ears with them. I don't know why he would put up with this sort of behaviour it is just so wrong !!!!!!!!!

I have a friend like that too...I think it's rather pathetic. She's completely disrespectful to him, even though she doesn't work and he pays all the bills. She sits around all day and stuffs herself and gets fatter. I've asked him many times why he doesn't put her out on the street...he can never give me a good answer. What a wuss.

I was once in his shoes and I would not say I was whipped or a wuss. I wanted to make things work so badly that I put up with all the things she said to me. "One of our basic needs is to be accepted" and "our spouses are supposed to be our soft place to fall". "We teach others how to treat us" by not putting a stop to it. He should lead by example don't treat her like she's treating him but at the time let her know this situation is not acceptable
