He has a fashion shoot soon and needs to look "cool", wants to wear his designer white shoes, dark blue jeans and wants to know what colour shirt and length of sleeve to perfect his look. I was thinking pink shirt, he is thinking green, what do you think?

What the hell is he doing? If he is going for a shoot, then why is he taking his own clothes? The wardrobe people will give him the clothes he is to wear for the shoot.
As far as the clothes he is turning up in, he can go in pretty much anything, just not scruffy. As it is his first shoot, his agent will probably have mentioned that he is representing the agency and so should dress in a manner that shows the agency best. I usually just turn up in a t-shirt, pair of jeans and trainers because they are easy to get out of when getting changed into your first set of clothes and easy to get into so you can make a fast exit at the end of the shoot.
The only thing you might want to consider is taking some kind of cardigan or somehting you can chuck over yourself in between shots. Often it takes some time before the photographer has set up a shot exactly as he wants it, and if you're standing around with a fan on you, in underwear, then it gets pretty nippy. Give it to the wardrobe girl and she can stick it on you in between shots.

Personally, this would impress me - nice, nice pale blue round neck t.shirt worn with a really cool dark jacket. Yum Yum, sexy and comfy, cool and laid back, yet sophisticated!!
