how do you play this not as a power chords but as a regular chord

I play it by barring the second fret

ring and pinky on the fourth freth, D and A strings.

top is your high E, bottom is your low E

Played as an "open chord"

Either as an Em (barring with index finger on 2nd fret) or as an Am (barring with index finger on the 9th fret - NO 6th string).

E, A, D, G, B, and E strings, respectively: F# (2nd fret), C# (4th fret), F# (4th fret), A (2nd fret), C# (2nd fret), F# (2nd fret)
