Do you think its possible to draw conclusions about events or people without making assumptions?

I don't think so. Its human nature to analyse information & to make an assumption

But in spite of some philosophical difficulties* it is possible to consider the assumptions themselves, gradually, in rotation, in terms of the alternatives...
There are a variety of options.

It is a revelation when you first realise that your teacher, or a text-book, might be wrong. Liberating, but worrying, too.

*don't go there unless you really have to!
