He's just Houdini style of magician where it's less based on illusion and more based on "real" things you can do. However, we all know Houdini always had a trick to what he was doing most of the time and I'm sure David Blane does too.

he's losing it, but it is going to make great viewing when he fluffs it on live TV because his stunt's gone horribly wrong
