Or could they be spies, hooligans and/or private eyes. Maybe from Hollywood trying to steal my ideas? or from a foreign country trying to copy our customs and holidays?

If you have that much of a problem don't put them up. I think because you have put them up in a public place (outside your residence) you are out of luck. It would be the same as not being able to take pics of other buildings that everyone does on their vacations.

No it's not legal . You should get sheets and cover up your lights so the spies won't get your ideas . first your lights and then your thoughts . Hide , Hide , quickly

your Christmas lights etc are public domain , if by chance you have a copyright on your Christmas lights or a patent then you have a legal right to sue those who infringe on your property

Its November and you have your lights up???!!! And yes its legal, it wouldn't be if they were standing on your property when they take the pic - that would be trespassing. But maybe they're aliens wanting to see the pretty lights

Who cares? They probably think you're house looks pretty, and wanted a picture of it. Isn't that why you put the lights up in the first place? for attention?

They can take pictures for their own private use but cannot publish them or make any money from them without a release form.

yes its legal.

I highly doubt you have a copyright on your xmas lights

they could be spies, etc... or you could be paranoid...

of course, just because you are paranoid, doesnt mean they are not watching
