I used to fancy him when he was in the broom cupboard (you'd have to be an oldie like me to know what I mean by that) - until I met him when I was working as a newspaper reporter.
Let me tell you, he is the most unpleasant individual I have ever met in my life. Don't let that happy, charming TV personna con you - he's nothing at all like that in real life.

i was on going live phone in when i was a kid and i think it goes back to that!!
