in an equation y = mx + b, m is always the slope and by is always the y-intercept

x + 2y = 3
2y = 3 - x
y = (-1/2)x + (3/2)
the slope is -1/2 and the y-intercept is 3/2

1/2x - 9 = 0
where's the y? this isnt an equation

y = 3x - 2
the slope is 3 and the y-intercept is -2

y + 4x = 8
y = -4x + 8
the slope is -4 and the y-intercept is 8

x + 2y = 3
The first thing that I would do is get this equation into slope-intercept form. Where b = y-intercept, and m is the slope:
y = mx + b

x + 2y = 3 --- Subtract x from both sides...
2y = -x + 3 --- Divide both sides by 2...
y = -½x + 3/2

Now we know that the slope is -½ and the y-intercept is 3/2, or the point (0, 3/2).

½x - 9 = 0 --- This equation only has one variable, so solve for x...
½x = 9 --- Added 9 to both sides... multiply both sides by 2...
x = 18

This is a vertical line that crosses the x-axis at point (18, 0). The slope for a vertical line is "undefined", and there is no y-intercept because this line doesn't cross the y-axis.

y = 3x - 2 --- This equation is already in slope-intercept form (y = mx + b, where m = slope and b = y-intercept). All we need to do is pull out the numbers, and stick them into our answer.

The slope is 3 and the y-intercept is -2 or the point (0, -2).

y + 4x = 8 --- Subtract 4x from both sides...
y = 8 - 4x --- Rearrange the terms...
y = -4x + 8

The slope is -4 and the y-intercept is 8 or the point (0, 8).

you have the equations in well-known style: ....................................Ax + with the aid of = C quite once you have correct divisible numbers like those, ultimate thank you to discover the intercepts is to transform the equation into the int-int style: For 2x + 3y = 6, divide with the aid of 6 (C), and you get x/3 + y/2 = one million. So, (3, 0), and (0, 2) are the intercepts. slope is m = -A/B = -2/3. for the different one, x/2 + y/4 = one million, so (2, 0), and (0, 4) are the intercepts; slope m = -2

Rearrange all equations to the form

y = A x + B. Then A is the slope and B is the
intercept.

For example, x + 2y = 3 can be rearranged to
be y = -3/2 x + 3/2. So, the slope is
-1.5 and the intercept is 1.5. If you have trouble
rearranging the equations, just think "solve for y".

just get the equations is y=mx+b
x+2y=3
-x on both sides
2y= -x+3
divide by 2 on both sides.
y=-x+3 or y= -1/2x + 3/2
----
2

1/2x-9=0
+9 on both sides
1/2x =9
divide by 1/2(multiply by reciprocal) on both sides
x=18
slope is undefined no y intercept, vertical line at 18 on the x axis if you have to graph.

y=3x-2
y intercept is -2
slope is 3/1

y+4x=8
subtract 4x on both sides
y= -4x+8
yintercept is 8
slope is -4/1

The equation you are looking for is:
y = mx + b,
where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

So... for y = 3x - 2
the slope is 3 and the y-intercept is -2.

Just use algebra to get the equations to look like y = mx+b and you'll have it.
