I was wondering how I can convince my parents especially my mom to let me get a moped. I'm 16 and have a drivers license so I know the rules of the road and defensive driving and that stuff. I have a car but it gets like 15 miles to the gallon and its a peice of crap so thats why I need a moped. Does anyone have ways that may work. Thanks

Who would want a moped. Get a motorcycle. Plenty of small engine starter bikes available. Safer and more fun and they don't come with a stigma attached.

Why do you need a moped?It's not the safest mens of travel.The roadhogs are out there.If it's only to move from point A to B,I tend to agree with you're parents.However should you envisage this means of travel to and from school,that is a different story altogether.As a moped would be more economical and probably faster.Work on dad,get him to ally you in this Be patient,no matter how many friends you have.No one cares for you more than family

How can I convince you not to get a moped.
if you think a moped because of its size is safer
then other bikes, you are wrong. to avoid being a menace
to yourself and other motorists you need something that has enough power to get out of its own way. and a moped just doesn't
have it.
If you don't want a full size bike at least get a vespa or something similar because at least those things can keep up with the flow of traffic.

i assume you're residing in China...? How old are you? in the event that they are determining to purchase it for you and procuring maintenance then they have a great say in any different case it is your decision. i've got no longer been to China yet (going for 5 weeks in July) so i'm uncertain, yet have they have been given automobile coverage like we do? have you ever seen them getting used responsibly on the streets? Any injuries? you should weigh up the pros and cons of a c usa that has some cities with roads so busy that folk won't be able to certainly circulate them.

Then get a job.
Then move out and get your own place.
At this point, you can convince your parents to let you get a moped. Until then, you're under their roof and rules. Deal with it.
