Get a fluffy brush like this (this one works best no matter what your skin type is)http://www.clinique.com/templates/products/sp_nonshaded.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY7567&PRODUCT_ID=PROD7505

dip your brush in the powder blush and sweep it diagonally up starting from the middle of your cheek up to about a centimeter above the top of your ear.

It'll define your cheekbones if you use a light blush for the main color of your cheeks (just use it for the main cheek part, not up to your ear), and use a darker color for the hollow of your cheeks (diagonally upward sweep) blend the darker color with lighter color a little so it won't look fake

Blush is strange in a good way. Pay no attention to how much you put on. Just take the brush and cover your cheeks with it. Tons of it. So much it looks unnatural. See, after about 10 minutes blush softens and sinks in as though it is natural, no matter how much you put on. You could put pounds of it on and after about en minutes it would look great.

Use only wear the sun hits the top of your cheek bone then blend a little down. Try using a shade that will look like you just have a little color to your face. Try the Loreal true match, it is meant to go with particular skin colors so you won't look like you are wearing blush. It is very important that it looks natural.

Smile as you put it on. Roll a fluffy brush in your blush and then roll it over the apples of your cheeks. It is easier to see these apples when you smile.

The apples of your cheeks are the puffy part right under your eyes.

Gentle sweeps of color over your cheekbones. Start light, you can always put more on as you go. Blush is always the number one cosmetic besides mascara that is very easy to mess up. So take your time if your learning. It will come easier as you gain experience using it.

It all depends on your face shape. If you have high strong cheek bones and an oval face you want to accent your cheek bones. If you have a rounder face, you want to apply it in a circle on the apples of cheeks, then brush it upwards towards your temples. If your face is heart shaped, you should do a combination of the two above.
Also, if you have problems, go to a department store, to the makeup ladies and ask them for advice.

You find a color just a bit darker than your skin tone, find the line of your cheek bone, sweep the brush front and back on your cheek bone line.
