If it was boring then it really wasn't truly perpetual happiness then was it...I would imagine that the motive behind eating the apple or 'grape, fig, wheat, citron or pomegranate' (just to appease everyone) was pure intrigue...the unknown...

If I put a person in a room with a plate full of oreo cookies and told them absolutely NOT to eat them..how long do you think it would be before they ate one? It's human nature to be inquisitive, so why would we fault someone for doing what comes naturally to them. Think about this..if I had poisoned the oreos before I put them on the plate..would I go to jail for murder..or could I use the defense.."I told them NOT to eat them" and get off scott free?

What escapes me is the fact that had Adam and Eve never eaten the fruit then the rest of us would never had existed, because there never would have been an 'original sin' so therefore no procreation. Were they destined to live forever in perpetual happiness, or did God know human failing (he did create them) to the point at which he knew they would without a doubt fall prey to the temptation? I suppose that God was planning to take the rest of Adams ribs in order to populate the earth.

So, eating the apple was completely justified, if not expected. Living on earth, the way it is, is a far cry better than Eden..here I can eat as many apples off as many trees as I wish. That in itself makes humanity worth it.

First of all, lets set the record straight, apples were not indigenous to the Middle East. If one were to read scripture carefully, which by the nature of the questions, it seems few care take the time. It was most likely a fig, because if you read further in Genesis 3:7, they sewed fig leaves together. Second, why do you suppose they were bored, where does the scripture even hint to that end? You are presupposing too much. Eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was not justified under any conditions, God said, DON'T! If I sound a little harsh, it is because too many people scoff and question the veracity of the Bible, without a shred of reasoning for it, except for personal biases.

That would make sense. Boredom is why a lot of rich kids start snorting coke.
