If you live in the same city or town why not create a coupon or gift certificate for a morning at a flea market and then lunch out.
My grandma has long since passed but she loved reading harlequin romances so I would always get her a box of new ones and a fancy bookmark.

How about a subscription to a favorite magazine, a gift card to a restaurant, a pair of movie or theatre tickets for her and a friend,a memory book that you have created with pictures, stories, etc.?

anything with pictures is a great gift! make an ornament with you're pic, or make a frame with your pics in it, or go to walmart and get a pic printed on one of those nice blankets, OR walmart has those snow globes where you can insert a pic-maybe of a pet or a another family member....good luck!

When my grandmother was alive, we used to get her meals from a butcher in the area that were fresh-made and freezable. They were individual meals. She loved it.
