No, for example if you are physically injured in an accidfent you can be permanently damaged.

However the way in which you cope with with that disability can make you stronger mentally.

To a certain point this is true. If you can overcome adversity, even trauma, then you can become a better, stronger person for having overcome it. Perhaps, if you suffer irreparable damage then you simply have not overcome the adversity.

I think it does both. It definitely helps you to learn something so that you don't make the same mistake twice. For instance in love, if you are hurt badly, more than likely you are more careful the next time around. That can give the impression of either being strong or being damaged. It just depends on the individual person.

I try my hardset to live by that rule.

Everything that happens in your life should be learned from, whether good or bad, and so should a similar situation arise you should be able to deal with it better.

Obviously things still upset you or can scar you mentally, but ultimatley, I try to learn from these things and not dwell too much on them.

With the right mind set and motivation the only thing that should ever stop you from doing something is death, and everything else will make you stronger!

ultimately, it depends on the person. some people get stronger, while others curl up into a ball and give up. the people who get immediately become stronger aren't necessarily better than the ones who don't. there are some things that take time to recover from.
