iTunes is not compatible with Windows 98, so you won't be able to use that to get your iPod to work with your computer.
You may have some success getting it to work using EphPod - http://www.ephpod.com This is an unofficial alternative to iTunes. There is a version that works on Windows 98.
If your PC is running Windows 98 it's likely to be quite old. Windows 98 is also now no longer supported/updated by Microsoft. You may want to consider budgeting for a newer machine soon.

The iPod and iTunes software calls for abode windows 2000 or better. there is not any opposite direction of having music on your iPod. you could also provide it to a pal with a abode windows XP computing device that you'll be able to placed the music on it for you.

Im not too sure ...so check this out ..but arent ipods ..Apple ....not microsoft ...and dont you need quick time for them and itunes for them to work on windows

well go toap[ple.com and download the new versions of itunes and see if that works if it dosen't then you need a new computer
