"The Death of Ivan Ilyich" by Leo Tolstoy is considered to be the greatest work of all time concerning the psychology of death. It's a nice, short work too in case you're low on time. Another favorite of mine is Fyodor Dostoevsky's "The Idiot" - particularly in the story of Ippolit Terentyev. This is one of the most powerful death-related existentialist tales I've ever read. I also recommend the play "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead" by Tom Stoppard, which had death and the fear of dying as major themes. Good luck!

it really is my handle it, too. i comprehend sometime (perchance immediately--who's conscious of?) i will die. there is no longer something in any way i will do about it. i do not truly actually have a decision as to the way it's going to take position: I survived maximum cancers so as that i will choke on a fowl bone. yet when my finished life centers round fearing demise, then that life is unnecessary. even as i will't provide up demise, i will direct my life; i'm a father, a husband, a pal, a brother, and a son. i'm also very huge on attempting new issues... I purely breathe extra useful even as i'm including adventure. Oh... and to the poster who suggested that the non-non secular are those who worry demise: i'm an Atheist. that's attitude and action, no longer faith and custom, that fuels me. And sure i have confronted my personal demise better than once.

It depends whether you are afraid of death or afraid that other people will die. 'Badger's parting gifts' though a children's book is very good.
