I have a compaq computer with AMD Athlon (tm) XP 3200+ with 2.20 GHz and 1.5 GB of RAM. I don't know why I have lag. I have more than enough RAM and it takes a long time to load some of the games. When I play Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth, my FPS (framerate per second) is around 8 and that's with maximize proformance setting (everything is on low or off). I don't understand why... I shouldn't have this problem; I have a lot of RAM. I think my RAM is broken or something. But I'm not sure. I just want to know how I can upgrade my hardware so that I have a lag-free computer.

I'm also wondering if this has anything to do with my graphics card. However, I don't know how to check what my graph card is.

It may be because your computer has viruses and is slowing down your computer or possibly that the games you play is alot for the computer to load so it lags to slow down the game and your computer so it can catch up and load properly. If its viruses i recommend getting virus software and removing the viruses but if its the loading problem theres not much you can do but it may be due to having an old computer or laptop.

You seem to have enough memory...how about processor? Anything below a Pentium III will lag badly.

You might have too many programs up. If not, you need to delete some programs off your computer.
