Need tips on how two PAs can jobshare, when they live in different countries and their boss works in both...?

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of working closey with a colleague overseas and what practises can make this work... The problem is: there is boss who splits their time between two cities and therefore needs two PAs, one in each country. What systems, ways of working etc would help the two PAs to make this work?
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Constant communication is essential. Use Instant Messaging more than email and use video conferencing if available at a certain time each day. I am assuming that you will both be speaking the same language otherwise it will prove difficult.
