The territory most likely to gain statehood is Puerto Rico. I am certainly not an expert on Puerto Rico politics, but my neighbor is from Puerto Rico and he says that the Puerto Ricans wanted statehood until they saw it might really happen, and then they backed off, preferring the benefits of the status quo.
I should ask him to clarify!

I am actually hoping there will be fewer states. The federal government has gotten so out of control that secession is the only thing that will allow the people and the states to take back the authority and powers that are now in the hands of the fed. The truth of the matter is, if a state managed to secede, its relationship to the fed would be far closer to that outlined in the Constitution than the relationship that exists today.

You can never tell. Maybe Canada might break up if Quebec leaves, maybe some of their provinces might want to sign on. Maybe not. History is strange though, it could be the US that breaks up, I kind of think that would be a good idea if it can be done peacefully. The born again fundamentalist Christians seem totally incapable of accepting the existence of anybody who does not believe as they do, they elected the present President in order to force their moral views on everybody else, so it would be better for everybody if they got their own country and people who want to live differently got our own. Off hand, I'd say give them everything east of Texas and south of Pennsylvania--the Old South. Then the remaining US might want to join up with Canada. The present alignment is a pain for everybody--the fundamentalist Christians hate those of us who aren't because we do not live like they think we should and frankly nobody I know likes getting dictated to by total strangers who practice a different religion. The country was set up to promote freedom of religion, but that is not whats happening now so lets just end it. Peacefully. Just sign a piece of paper and end it like the USSR did.

Yes of course there will. It is pretty obvious to all but the blind and ignorant that the UK has been an 'annexe' of the US for several years now. Whether we actually want it or not is, it appears, insignificant.
We have all their fast food joints, Walmart has taken over Asda and Woolworths, (I think), our kids, (aka neds and chavs), all aspire to be dressed as the latest lil 'gangsta on da block' - another Americanism.
Finally, we are in the last days of our first 'Presidency'......

Heck no. America can't afford the ones it stole already. Like Hawaii. They stole that island from the people in order to enslave them on Pineapple plantations. They raped the women for doing those dances. Horrid.

If you are referring about more states for the United States, no. It is messy enough politically without adding more politicians in the mix.
