For a start, I don't. I have no way of proving that you really are there and even if we met face to face, we both may be figments of another beings imagination. Even Descartes 'I think, therefore I am' doesn't work as a proof of existence because he is basically saying I am thinking, therefore I am thinking, therefore I am thinking etc etc.
How do we know anything? We see, hear and understand things, but does that mean that we exist? Nihilism here we come...

I know you are here because I am creating my reality as of this very moment (on many levels), and this reality as of right now is reading your question and forming my best answers in my mind in response to what you have posted. Therefore, if you really weren't here then I would not have read your question, tried to formulate a best answer that I can in my mind, and be typing this right now. I came to this answer on the basis that I am creating my own reality by my senses, feelings, and thoughts every single moment and what is here is what is real to me. And by coming across this question it serves me to my creation of my reality and yours to post what I have came up with because this is the way I chose to express my reality.

Hello,
The answer in my opinion is purely academic, YOU DONT!!, this is the like saying whats the nature of reality? there are literally as many answers as there are stars in the sky. or How big is the universe? no body really knows nor can prove how big the universe really is.
Or how many angels can fit ontop of a pin head, frankly it just doesnt matter to me personally, I gave up trying to turn my brains inside out over enlightenment years ago. Lifes for living thats what matters most, & the quality of living.
**Life is like a dream? I think the aboriginal australians were not far off in calling it the dream time.
**If life is like a dream, the only question is what's your dream like? is its a pleasure or a horror film, is it a sunny day or is it raining or blowing a gale??

Only an Avatar name and words to go on. You may be a machine a person or a clever chimpanzee but someone had to write the question therefore you exist! I would need to see you to know what you are!

Because when you tripped over a fallen tree in the forest, you made an awful lot of noise. Thumper heard it and dialed 911. Help is on the way ----- if you are still there.

We cant know anything really.Absolute reality is a myth.Relative position only you can know.If you are not there you will be somewhere else. But it does not make any difference to the person who is answering. For the person who is answering YOU are there permanently, till the question is closed for answer.

I don't. But it's good to talk, even if it is to an entity that may or may not exist.
(I think you do exist really though, otherwise who asked the question in the first place?)

I don't.
I can only think that you're there, but I cannot prove it even if I saw you, because perhaps it's only a dream and I'm not really there.
