Yes you can play gameboy advance games on the gameboy Micro. The game boy micro is just a smaller version of the gameboy advance. The only difference is I think you can't play regular gameboy games and gameboy colour games on the gameboy micro.

This is a yes and no question.
1) Yes, you can play the same game on both Gameboy Micro and Gameboy Advance IF the game is a "Gameboy Advance Game."
2) And here comes the no part. The Gameboy Advance can play the older Original Gameboy and Gameboy Color games, but Gameboy Micro cannot play these older games. It's simple to tell if a game is an older gameboy game because the cartridge will be much bigger and stick considerably out of the Gameboy Advance when you play it.

They are in fact the same exact thing, in different packages.
Game Body Advance, Game Boy SP & the Game Boy Micro all use the exact same cartidges. However, accessories for these products vary greatly.
Otherwise, there's no real difference in playability. If I had to suggest one, the Micro or the SP would be by choice, rechargable & backlit screens are much easier to see.
